Amen, Dana!
We love Judy Rogers!
My all-time favorite CD is her one with Craig Pitman on Pilgrim's Progress and I also love her hymns with Becky Morecraft. Their unique pairing of new tunes with old hymns in places brought those hymns alive to me again. Not to mention the children and I croak our way through Coram Deo several times a year.

Thanks for the reminder.

Also please don’t suggest any more books.

You don't really mean that do you?

There will only be 15 people here. I just don't want to make my visitors sick. Prayers are appreciated.

Carmon,
Not sick again on Thanksgiving! We also have a few sick members but they are not cooks and we aren't having a crowd this year.

Also please don't suggest any more books :)

I need to listen this morning to Twila's song "God is in Control." As happens every year at this time, some of my children are sick. It wouldn't be so bad, but one of them is Anna. I'm not sure we can do Thanksgiving without her!

I used "The Angelus" in August as an illustration for a post about the need for humility in the reformed world and the importance of sharing our faith with others. Have you got Deutcher and Wheeler's biography of MIllet called _Millet Tilled the Soil_? It's really good.

I have never thought of that song as a Thanksgiving song, but it fits perfectly. Sort of a modern rendition of "Come Ye Thankful People Come."

The first time I saw this Millet, I didn't recognize the church steeple next to the woman's shoulder.

Thank you, Cindy.

Wow! Famous friend! and pastor :)

I actually had to look up Twila. I thought the lyrics were good and so I wanted to listen to some of her voice.

I'm sure I've heard her before....it's that I have poor musical recognition skills. And we sing mostly traditional hymns as opposed to praise choruses.

But with your rec....I thought I should check her out.

Thank you for this encouragement. Paired with the painting of the gleaners (one of my favorites), these lyrics are a perfect heart-plea for us all this Thanksgiving.
