This Mark Steyn Article has been online for over a week but you will want to read it if you missed it.
I have a love/hate relationship with this guy but I thought this was a great parable and I wanted to make Valerie happy.
Check out the DHM’s 5 posts on The Moral Obligation to Be Intelligent. They are wonderful.
Seasonal Soundings sent me to this fantastic link for Christmas Carols. But they don’t have this carol which is among my favorites.
That reminds me of a link that Margaret in Va posted for a Christmas Family Liturgy which looks intriguing.
Finally, if you like PD James, as I do, check out the free Mars Hill Audio Podcast Audition. This is an interview with Ralph Wood and even a clip of James herself speaking on the place of evil in fiction.

After reading the Mark Steyn article I immediately went to Amazon and ordered two of his books for my husband for Christmas!! My hubbie likes Steyn and these will make a great gift. Thanks.
Haven’t read the parable yet. My love/hate prevents me from clicking over there.

Ok, I read the parable and I’m really glad I did. It was excellent and I’m so excited that I actually understood what he was talking about.

I am glad I caused you to spend money, Janet, since my Bite-sized Theology just arrived and we began reading it this morning.

Cindy,
I clicked on the link to see what favorite Christmas hymn you liked (I *love* that one too!) and happened to see the link at the bottom…Did you see that cyberhymnal has the *Latin* translation for “Of the Father’s Love”? Neato!

I am reading America Alone right now. Enjoying it is maybe not the way to describe it, but it is worthwhile reading. I plan to pass it on to my oldest daughters when I am done.
Also, I enjoyed the parable. A good one to hand to some youths when they turn 21.

I ordered America Alone and we plan to read and discuss it in the family this new year.
I’m also really enjoying “Better Off” by Eric Brende the recommendation by Rick.
Hope you’re having a cozy December…it JUST got cold here in coastal VA. Brr! Frost on the cars. This Louisiana girl is reminded of how she likes the weather MILD!
Of the Father’s Love Begotten is a favorite around here too! But when there are so many favorites…what does that mean?!?
