My friend, Sandy, just sent me the link to this audio from NPR.
Lo and behold, it is Franky Schaeffer speaking about childbearing and young families. I would suggest you use earphones if young children are about because Franky admits to a few sins. But over all it is a wonderful affirmation of life in an unlikely place.
Sandy says this reminds her of the Frederica Matthews-Greene article Let’s Have More Teen Pregnancy.
To which I say amen and happy birthday, Sandy.

Thank you! That was very sweet. Sorry I missed you at lunch, but they said you weren’t feeling well. Hope you get to feeling better soon. How polite of you not to say that it was my 40th, but I really don’t mind about the number. I was truly surprised by the girls. One of them had gone to great lengths to set me up, and it worked.
I was flabbergasted to say the least to hear Frank Schaeffer on NPR, although I think they interviewed him when his son when off to war in the past year or so. Unfortunately, my secret is out that I occasionally listen to NPR, but I turn it off when I get mad over blatent attempts to promote homosexuality or abortion. Even the feminists drive me a wall some days. So it was very amazing that they aired this piece when it was obviously Christian…without naming the name of Christ.
I thought you’d like it…glad I was right.

Haven’t listened, but read the article. Amen! I have a picture of me pregnant with my first, happily married at 19…If you look closely I have in my hand a book a well-meaning friend gave me to read entitled “Teen Prengancy”. That picture always makes me smile!
