I’m curious how long your schedule takes. I could identify with what you said before about over-scheduling, which is what I do every year. However, some things I gave up a couple of years ago, because I never seemed able to fit them in. This year I have Gileskirk American Culture and American Lit with my older two, Sonlight American History with the next two, and _Before Five in A Row_ with the younger two, who unfortunately, sadly are a lower priority. Preschool and early elementary are the years I love the most. Daddy takes care of our Bible reading and memory verses which follows what we are doing at church. I would love to add back in music and art apprectiation again…someday.

Cindy, this is probably a dumb question… I see you have five things listed in most categories. Does that mean on Monday you say the first Scripture, song, poem, etc. and on Tuesday the second, etc.?

Laura, Yes.
Sandy, This sheet reflects something we have done for years every possible morning 1-2 hours. So I just clip along every morning. Or plod as Linda likes to call it. This morning I read Much Ado, OIS, How’s Inky & SOTW and we stopped for quick narrations.
Today is Wednesday but we worked on Tuesday because Monday we did first day things.
So I will probably finish this week’s sheet early next week and then I will have another sheet ready to go with where we left off.
Highschoolers come for Hymn, Proverbs reading, prayer & Shakespeare.

Looks good….now how about coming over and planning My schedule?

Looks wonderful! I’m still struggling with what to do and we’re supposed to be starting school next week! Sigh.
By the way, sure is nice to be able to have “girl time”. Doesn’t happen around here anymore.

Linda,
I have the book Polished Cornerstones but I have such a terrible time actually using it. Did you ever come up with a way to make use of it?
Comment by Cindy (August 18, 2005 @ 5:43 pm )
We love the Major General song from G&S.
And I shouldn’t, but I do love the fact that you have Polished Cornerstones but have a terrible time using it. That makes me feel so very nearly adequate as a mother and human being.=)

I’ve used it on and off over the years, but never in any “organized” way. I have the one for boys, too, but alas, they sit together and take up shelf space, I’m afraid.

Well, DHM you can probably sing the Major General Song while we sort of a rap it. Plus the men in our family will be oh, so happy when Emily can make Hoppin’ John for lunch even if she does forget the cornbread. When it comes to girls I definitely have my eyes and ears open.

Cindy,
I was working through your archives here on morning time and am wondering, what is ‘Polite Moments’ in your memory work section? Is it a book?
Thanks,
Lisa
